Editorial Policies for what?! : The LeoNation
“I have always had a keen interest for writing. Having started by freelancing for my hometown weekly, so blogging is a passion. I mean who wouldn’t want a space to write without an editorial policy?” Leo Muzivoreva Right????!!!! Heck I know I would
So this month on Wednesdays we are crushing on fellow bloggers! I love this idea, I was crushed on last week and I still feel some typa way, I feel like I can fly,
I feel like I could be J.K. Rowling,
I feel like I can write a book,
I feel like I need to write more
Anywho, enough about me let’s talk about TheLeoNation, a land of non-fictional chronicles and some pretty big words he used to describe everything about his blog, you will find here words like debacle….debacle…. now don’t let this give you the heebie jeebies already, his blog is easy to read, you don’t always need a dictionary close by lol
So the first post that introduced me to The LeoNation was this one here and it made me grateful for the small mercies of life. These days most people are “kiyakiyaring” some honestly others not so but I share Leo’s sentiments when he said, “I wouldn’t judge a punter and call them lazy or anything. Zimbabweans are generally a level headed group of people. If things were much better in terms of the political economy then we wouldn’t be worrying about our relatives and associates who have resorted to sports betting.” I think we forget the strain betting brings on families, you are living with an addict. This is how families lose their properties and literally the clothes on their backs cause once you start you can’t stop. Maybe it’s not yet a serious issue or there is no awareness but I am sure if we were to conduct a survey on how gambling is tearing families apart we might just be in for a surprise.
I really love his blog cause the diversity is quite interesting. I enjoyed this article about the Proudly Zimbabwean brands though it’s rather sad to note that now when you are buying Mazoe you have to check and double check that it has the “original” tag on it, in as much as we love Mazoe the competition is stiff for them with Bally House giving them a run for their money, though nothing beats Mazoe to be honest. Ok and then there is Eversharp, guys Eversharp!!!!! Eversharp is the real deal, I remember when I was in grade 2 the highlight was going to grade 3, particularly Mrs Mkota’s class (proud Courtney Selous School girl and in the winning house KUDU), I really loved that woman anywho I really looked forward to being in her class but most of all I looked forward to the graduation from pencil to pen!!!! And our teachers were really strict, IT HAD TO BE AN EVERSHARP 15M lol then Eversharp 2000 came loooool that’s a story for another day, but the memories that just flooded me reading about Eversharp 15M and pork pies lol. Thank you Leo for making me look back on this and appreciate the local brands we have, we really want to buy local but these brands take us for a ride. You can read the article here and also wonder what happened to the Zim advertising agencies like I was doing lol
To close it off, this is an article that made me laugh and conclude that truly the more things seem to change the more they stay the same….
You want to be part of the LeoNation where Bliss and happiness are permanent residents, you definitely want a different view on social issues, you want to follow a blog that writes about everything and when I say everything I mean everything without it seeming too serious but at the same time without it seeming like it’s shallow as he says real life events or issues with a bit of creativity, you want to follow Leo’s blog
I wish I could write more I definitely couldn’t write everything in one post but I think I will revisit this blog again….soon!!!
Till then let me know what you think about Leo’s blog https://leomuzivoreva.wordpress.com/
