My heart resonates, I don’t know what it is but I know I want to remember and never forget. How do I remember you, do I remember the things you said that I never heard or things you never said that ring louder in my ears? Do I remember the things you did that my eyes were closed to or the things you never did that are so vivid in my eyesight. I don’t know how to remember you when I never really knew you..

I want to remember you but I am afraid I don’t know how. I am afraid I didn’t know you long enough to have enough memories that can sustain me. I sometimes look for you in the people I meet, I listen to them talk and hope I will hear the sound of your laughter, I look deeply in their eyes and hope its your love I will see, I hear them speak and hope to hear your wisdom escaping their lips. My mind deceives me, am afraid I don’t know how to remember you when I never really knew you yet my heart assures me that deep inside I knew you. I try to remember the things you said, the things you said that I never heard you say like how proud you were of me, how you can’t wait to meet your grandchildren , these are the memories that are engraved in my mind.
