#BOTY 2018: Day 5

On the 5th day of Christmas my true love sent to me her best songs in 2018 😉

So this was a tough one simply because “I love music any kind of music” and “music makes me lose control” How do you choose one song? So 2018 has just been a year, one of the longest years of my life if I am honest. I love Khaya Mthethwa and I have been a day one from his very first idols audition to date. I loved that twist he did with Superbass https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3wn8MJRriw0  right up to  when he recorded the realest version of Ushilo wena . And I just loved his latest album with Oasis Worship Mkhulumsebenzi, that has been my song for the year, it’s a faith song to be honest, saying “yes I can see, yes I believe, great is the work you are doing in my life” and yet everything that could go wrong just seems to be going wrong. It really uplifted me.

And my feel good pick me up song that I jam to any day, everyday like crazy is Laura Izibor: Shine. It’s not a 2018 song but well it might as well have been. Some songs are hard to explain their relevance. I can laugh and cry as I sing along to this song. You know one of those songs where you are like this person had my life flash cards and someone was just putting them up and then they started writing lyrics from each card typa thing. I know you do EVERYONE has that one song I swear, it might even be System Tazvida’s Anodyiwa lol but you have that song for you.

Mkhulumsebenzi 🙂

Well let the sun shine on your face
And don’t let your life go to waste
Now is the time, got to make up your mind
Let it shine on you, let it shine on you

I had to go to YouTube to listen in to the track and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. It’s a beautiful track and Mkhulumsebenzi has been added to my Gospel Track List 🙂
