…mind in motion

when people talk I listen. I listen to everything they say and I am all ears for those subliminal messages. As I am listening I am self aware I ask myself, “am I sensitive and open-minded and most importantly what is my take away from this conversation?” In my bag I have a notebook that I carry with me everywhere I go, at times it takes a lot for me to not make notes as a person is talking cause that is super weird. I love stories, some of my blog posts come out of conversations with the most random people and while I am here I must just add that I do not believe there is such a thing as a boring person, you are just biased.

When I read, I take note of everything, the sentence structure, I read out loud (sometimes) to “catch” the tone of the words. I look out for grammar, any new words or phrases I may not know, this is a habit my mum taught me when I was like 10/11 years old and clearly it stuck. Every now and again when I am writing, I take out my notebook and make use of these new words.

Drives with my husband are the best, we make up stories about people using their expressions to guide us. Sometimes using the modulator we tune in to other people’s frequencies and listen to their music then we use the cars to judge who is listening to what. At times we just tune into the radio and we comment on EVERYTHING, the music selection, the topics, the presenters, the news reader, the news and we make up stories about what we think they are wearing like “hmmm the way this guy is talking he sounds like he is wearing a minions tie” etc (that sentence is very correct in my head)

These are the small mercies of life I am grateful for, having an open mind. Can you imagine being so boxed and shallow, you can’t even enjoy a simple ride to work, not having an opinion about anything?

I am rich because I.have.a.mind.that.works that I.put.to.work. 🙂
