Say one day you decided to visit Zimbabwe and well you asked me to show you the best of the land, do you know where i would take you?

No not Victoria Falls 😆 I would take you my dear friend to Masvingo. Why Masvingo you ask, well firstly because this is where I come from, my native home, my rural home lol I don’t know what the correct term is but I do know we call it kumusha, this is where my fathers and forefathers are buried and hopefully this will be my resting place too.

We would drive to Lake Mutirikwi. Believe me when I tell you, this would be the most refreshing and serene drive you have ever been on. As we are driving the one thing you will appreciate are the granite hills, on the hills are huts and the view is breathtaking. You will wonder like I always do how they managed to build their little huts but you will also envy them cause they wake up to the most gorgeous views of surrounding mountains.

We will eventually get to the Lake wall, (by the way this lake is the largest inland man made lake in Zimbabwe) you will feel like the waters are staring into your soul, you will be so mesmerised you will not want to leave.

We will eventually have to leave *sigh* but worry not we will be going to Gonarezhou National Park next. Gonarezhou loosely translated means “a place of Elephants” We will see so many elephants by the time we leave you will feel like you are leaving family behind. There is other wildlife there but elephants are the main attraction. There are some beautiful cliffs there, you would enjoy moving around there.

Gonarezhou

Fun fact the Gonarezhou National Park stretches into SA and Mozambique so the animals actually move around freely between the countries, isn’t that exciting 😂😂😂 (why are fun facts never fun)

We would be so close to Chimanimani now it would only make sense to go and experience drinking the real deal spring water and swim like mermaids under the most gorgeous natural waterfalls but we are tired!!!!

So we settle for visiting the sugar cane plantation in Triangle though I would have to warn you, your sweet tooth will be the death of you if you are caught with sugar cane, you will be imprisoned or fined. They take their plantations seriously.

If you do insist on us going to Chimanimani, I guess we would have no choice but to also go to Nyanga, Aberfoyle and visit the tea estates there. I can already smell the tea leaves friend, do come already…

When we finally get back friend, from our first round trip, cause one trip ain’t going to cut it, I know you would enjoy something light so we will go wineatasting at Bushman Rock and maybe even press the grapes, that would be so much fun.

I can’t wait for you to come friend, when are you coming by the way?
