It can make you

There are lots of people whose lives have been changed for the better thanks to social media. Bloggers, vloggers, influencers, motivational speakers, the list is endless have had an opportunity to not only change their lives but the lives of those around them for the better. If your heart is open to it and you use it wisely it can work for you. The thing we always forget is we don’t know who we are interacting with, they could be the channel for your blessing for all you know. Self taught chefs have become celebrity chefs through marketing and making the most of their pages. Some have found love, slide into the DM’s we could be attending your wedding after the lockdown.

It can break you

Stress, heightened low self esteem, suicide. Heart aches, heart breaks, heart attacks, divorce. Wars, home break ins, people who take fights from twitter streets to the real streets. Laziness, burning of pots whilst cooking, short attention span. Losing a job, potential employer not interested, people hating you because of your views. Unplanned/ unwanted pregnancies, leaked nudes, HIV, STI’s, slide into the DM’s without something for the weekend and you could be a statistic.

It can make you fight fires you have nothing fighting

This usually happens when you do not read to understand but to just respond. This also happens when you are scrolling and you feel the need to say something just nje for the fun of it. King Solomon in all his infinite wisdom had this to say A person who is passing by and meddles in a quarrel that’s not his is like one who grabs a dog by the ears Proverbs 26:17. Sometimes just smile and wave as you scroll past by. You don’t have to say anything all the time.

Nobody reads the retraction

I used this point as the title of my post cause this is the one point that spoke to me. The first story is the one that sticks with people and makes an impact. The second story about how someone stole your phone or hacked your computer is probably not going to be a headline cause you know what it’s not juicy enough. I get that stuff happens heck technology eludes many of us but everything you put out there is retrievable yup even the stuff that’s backed up in your cloud. So be wise with your choices cause the retraction is going to mean nothing buddy!
