On the 19th day of Christmas my true love sent to me Hope Masike Unplugged đŸ™‚
As the mystical sounds of the mbira cascaded through the room enfused with the deep pulsating rhtytm from the bass guitar enclustered with the rumbling thunderous sound from the drum and the smooth melodies from the keyboard, I knew this would be a night to remember.
There I was in the front seat, taking it all in like parched grounds receiving the first Summer rains. You could literally sense the anticipation that hovered in the air as we awaited the grand entrance of the Queen of Mbira, gwenyambirakadzi. The interesting thing is this is not the first show of hers I have been to but it’s the first one where I was in the front row like a VIP.
As she entered clad in all black with a neckpiece only she could get away with, her smile was the real show stopper, Oh!! and then she opened her mouth, that note ka!!!!
